I think one of the biggest rewards as a graduate engineer would have to be being a part of the successful transformation of the design into a real-life structure.
It’s the extra roles and committees outside of project work that I treasure most and that makes me feel included. Roles such as being the lead of the First Nations Committee; this role allows me to embrace my culture and heritage within the business and gives me the confidence to bring the complete ‘Nick’ to work every day.
You really can forge your own career path at Oliver Wyman, and the firm is very focused on development. Through day-to-day project work, consultants have opportunities to push themselves and perform at a higher level in an accelerated fashion.
What I love most about my job is that I can see how my work can truly affect clients and help them when we can achieve a desired outcome for them. Even through hard times, knowing that I am constantly learning to help others through my work is very fulfilling.
