There is rarely a perfect trade or a right answer in most situations I face, but sometimes opportunities arise where I am able to utilize all of my training and experience to make a split-second decision that could result in a big payout.
The coolest thing about my role is that level of involvement I’m given as an intern, sitting in on planning meetings at the highest level, being asked to contribute and having my opinion heard is extremely exciting and sometimes scary.
Understand there are hundreds of ways to reach your end goal – so don’t be disheartened if you face a roadblock along the way. Keep researching and keep soldiering on as this hard work and determination will definitely be realised.
An engineering degree is the foundation to this role, however much of the hands-on learnings allow me to apply and build on the academic learnings of university.
Preparing for the Graduate Program for me started during my university time. I made sure that I had previous work experience in the engineering/construction industry while studying.
