More excellence, less vanilla

The RBA’s two-year rotational graduate program is a well-recognised and outstanding professional opportunity for emerging talent. We are offering an opportunity for a graduate accountant within the RBA’s Financial Reporting team. The successful candidate would have a great attitude, strong analytical skills, and an interest in learning more about accounting and tax policy (including investment accounting).

Your background

  • Recently completed a degree in finance, accounting, business or a closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated skills in critical thinking
  • An interest in the RBA’s policy functions, a curious mindset to understand how Finance captures and analyses these activities, and a customer-focused attitude
  • A team player who is willing to contribute their ideas within the team and across Finance more broadly

Your team

Your graduate program experience will be within Finance, which is responsible for statutory reporting and providing support services to the Bank across several different areas. You will have one year working within the reporting and taxation team, and one year with the investment accounting team. Both of these teams sit within the Financial Reporting part of Finance. Your role will include collaborating with different areas in the Bank, including internal stakeholders within Finance, the dealing room, Risk Management, Settlements, Human Resources and the RBA’s offshore offices.

Finance offers a supportive environment with coaching and training. This enables you to immediately apply your skills to make a difference, while learning from a talented team in a unique institution. You will be able to fast-tracking your professional skills development and will have opportunities to extend yourself.

Part of being on the team is having “crazy” ideas about how software could be applied to an area and being given the time to test it out.
