Culture at John Deere

8.0

Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
I think the company culture in the office is good, when there are a lot of people in the office. Often though, you don’t see many people in the office anymore, and so it is very quiet and often disappointing when you drive all the way to work to see no one there. I don’t think there is much of a culture after hours, as no one at work seems to hang out after work or on weekends. There are few social events that staff get involved in. I think there is a good culture between field staff though, as they are close

John Deere has a fantastic culture. They have completely embraced the new work from home hybrid workplace since Covid-19. There is a fantastic Executive Leadership Team who, despite being leaders of the business, are extremely approachable and have a great presence. The teamwork is fantastic - there is always someone both inside and outside of your team who are willing to help with a query. As a new graduate/employee of the business, I was never made to feel as if there was nobody to bounce my questions/ideas off. Even as a new employee, my opinion and skills are highly valued by all members of my team which is an incredible day-to-day feeling and motivator. John Deere are fantastic when it comes to understanding a work-life balance, and there has been a great emphasis on participating in external career development initiatives, such as conferences, trade shows and charity events.

In the office our company is a social and encouraging place to work, team work is embraced, but personal time is also respected. Out of office hours we also have a social club who put on a variety of events throughout the year.

There is a great culture and I enjoy being in the office, especially when it is staffed. The main issue is that the office has never had more than a quarter of staff in the office at any one time.
