Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
Grad program has regular catch ups and a week away together each year to grow professional and personal soft skills, along with designated formal technical training for employees. Honeywell is big about on the job training, working on site and shadowing experienced employees, so this couples well with the formal training.

Training and development is particularly strong in the grad program. All Honeywell graduates will participate in 8x Fusion teambuilding online workshops, culminating in a weeklong paid trip to Sydney where all graduates will continue to work together and form bonds. My department also provided VMware training interstate in Melbourne, granting me professional skills and an amazing travel opportunity.

The company offers role specific in-office and virtual training sessions to upskill their employees and familiarise them with the organisations products and services. These training sessions are conducted by experienced and skilled individuals who have a complete end-to-end understanding of the products/services, the various problems with them, and potential methods of troubleshooting these. The organisation also has a great LMS which provides technical knowledge of products and services, interactive activities, and knowledge about in house processes. The knowledge base is immense and covers all the various business functions of the organisation.

Honeywell offers a comprehensive range of training and development programs. There are numerous sessions organized by HR that cover a wide array of topics, from technical skills to personal development. These sessions are very informative and provide valuable knowledge that is applicable both on-site and in the office. In addition to formal training, there is a significant amount of informal and on-the-job training. I have learned a lot about practical, in-person engineering through hands-on experience and mentorship from more experienced colleagues. Key skills I have picked up include project management, technical troubleshooting, effective communication, and collaboration in a multidisciplinary team environment. This blend of formal and informal training has been instrumental in my growth as a graduate project engineer.

Training is too long, they don't put me onsite in the first 6 months. It is hard to remember.
Graduate, Melbourne - 31 May 2024
the graduate program itself is great but when you get into the technical training, the training is really good but there is so much of it so possibly a clear road map could assist in this.
Graduate, Brisbane - 30 May 2024
Graduate development program with monthly workshops to develop in soft skills. Online learning modules to upskill with company culture and values. Informal training by co-workers, managers, team leaders and teammates.

There are opportunities for you to do courses that the company has on specific tools we use. Although admittedly, the role specific training sometimes might have out dated information as the company changes their processes. This is why I recommend on the job training by your assigned buddy. However, there are other courses/modules that you can view to help you understand the business better or develop different skills. There are a lot of workshops as part of the graduate program, they are typically quite insightful and I would highly recommend the attendance to them.

I've spent the first three months mainly doing online training modules, so it feels like I'm still at uni. As an engineer, you need to know the systems and processes before you help our customers so I understand why we need to do it, but it can be very tedious. A bit more on the job training mixed in with the training modules would be helpful.
