From my experience so far at the firm, the firm is very diverse in terms of its people. This makes for a very welcoming environment for all people.

My company has a 6 month parental leave policy, available to everyone. In my experience, they are also very supportive generally of diverse backgrounds and have a dedicated company diversity representative, together with committees that work hard to improve visibility.

The firm has a large percentage of female leaders in the firm. I am also aware of the probono work the firm does for LGBT and homeless communities.

Very inclusive work environment.

I believe HW is strong in relation to diversity. I note in particular the possibility of 'keep in touch' days after a team member has been on parental leave, as well as the ability to work from home or work reduced hours.

Women are definitely the majority in both our grad cohort and in the broader office. Can't speak on LGBT as am unaware of this. Ethnic minorities is not as obvious as gender. Maternity leave seems to be huge within the company which is great considering the high levels of women employed.
Graduate, Newcastle - 07 Jun 2023
From what I have seen so far, we are committed to diversity. HW has many female partners and seniors. We also have a variety of ethnicities. The culture is an inclusive one.
Graduate, Perth - 06 Jun 2023
Mat leave is very good. There is a lot of flexibility for parents with child care responsibilities. Very progressive too. My understanding is that at the application stage recruitment is totally blind - your university etc can't be viewed by HR. During grad induction we had conversations with the Managing Partner about The Voice and the firm's stance on it, and he asked our advice on the best way to communicate our position publicly, which felt meaningful, and we have the opportunity to do cultural awareness training.
Graduate, Sydney - 06 Jun 2023
The company engages in blind recruitment

As a leader in the diversity sector, the firm is very open to diversity and strives to make it a comfortable and inviting environment that facilitates everyone's needs

Culturally diverse. Maternity leave is significant. Lots of people take maternity leave and paternity leave.
Graduate, Melbourne - 25 May 2023
As an older applicant, Hall & Wilcox were the ONLY company prepared to interview and consider me. As far as i am concerned, they don't just talk the talk, they walk the diversity walk. Ageism is real and i am forever grateful for HW for giving me a shot. I feel very lucky.
Graduate, Brisbane - 25 May 2023
Diversity is encouraged. Lots of events supporting all diversity - our graduate applications were also completely anonymous.
