I start my workday by going through my emails, responding to queries and structuring my workflow. Once I’m in the zone I focus on my heavier tasks in the morning, working through tax returns, financial statements and detailed tax advice.

8.00 AM

Time to wake up. I think the best way to get a good start on the day is being rested. A solid 8-hours is necessary for myself to function at my highest. I then spend the following hour waking up, preparing for the day and brewing coffee. My current setup is a Kalita Dripper 102 and I make a full batch in the morning, enough for 2-cups of deliciousness. I’m currently using Vacation beans, a local roastery in my area. Before I sit down to start work, I like to enjoy my coffee out on the balcony and take some natural light in.

9.00 AM

I start my workday by going through my emails, responding to queries and structuring my workflow. Once I’m in the zone I focus on my heavier tasks in the morning, working through tax returns, financial statements and detailed tax advice. As I would otherwise spend the majority of the day sitting down, I use an adjustable standing desk to stop bad posture. I also find it helps to wave off sleepiness in the morning and helps me focus.

1.00 PM

Hunger setting in, it’s time to eat! I usually cook something light – toasted sandwiches, wraps, omelettes etc. – as I find if I eat something too heavy it makes me sleepy later in the afternoon. Today I’ve gone with an omelette, and it looks like someone else is hungry too!

2.00 PM

Back to my office. I make another coffee (or two) in the afternoon to recharge and pump out work for the rest of the day, usually with an AeroPress. I have a daily catchup with my amazing team in the afternoon to discuss my day, upcoming deadlines and any other team news.

5.30 PM

Hunger kicking in and my brain tank low, I log off for the day and start dinner. I usually cook together with my partner if we’re free. Of course, we can’t forget Oak’s dinner. We like to give her chicken necks, or fish mixed with her biscuits for good nutrition and a healthy coat.

7.00 PM

One of my favourite hobbies is rock climbing. It’s a great way to stay fit and a lot of fun. Together with my partner, we head to a local bouldering gym and let out the rest of our energy on the walls.

10.00 PM

Back home, energy gone and muscles sore, I relax a little and watch some Netflix with my partner and Oak. It was recently my cake day, so I’m enjoying some leftover cake and tea before I sleep.
