Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the market leader and technology forerunner in cloud services. Our Cloud Support team provides technical support to our customers across the globe. We are looking for technical interns to help accelerate our growing Cloud Support business. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Amazon’s technical teams, working with some of the best and brightest engineers, while also developing your skills and furthering your career within one of the most innovative and progressive technology companies.

What you will do: Interns in this program benefit from the opportunity to gain experience with AWS cloud services including EC2, load balancers, and S3 storage solutions. They collaborate with AWS engineers and their peers in a virtual classroom to learn about AWS services and practice troubleshooting techniques. You’ll have an opportunity to apply your new skills through customer case simulations.

Our Support Engineers get an exposure to disruptive technologies applied in our software solutions. They collaborate with software development teams to raise the engineering and operational excellence to define the future.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

As a Support Engineer Intern you will

  • Candidates will need to be in their penultimate year of their overall Bachelors/ Masters in IT/Comp Sci or a related discipline. 
  • You must have Australian/New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency at the time you submit your application.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, be a fast learner and have the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced development environment.
  • Play vital role in helping us leverage supporting and developing technologies on any platform to increase global collaboration, increase efficiency, and meet our controller ship requirements
  • Directly work with development teams to improve the applications built by conducting technical mitigations and deep dives on reported issues to find the cause and corrective actions
  • Work with our other technical teams to ensure the design is effective and complements of our in house custom developed applications across platform stacks (including SQL, Java/.NET/C#/Perl/Python) or SaaS
  • Good knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as Algorithms, Data Structures, Object Oriented Design, Databases, etc.
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Scripting or Coding knowledge (Ex: Shell, Python, Ruby, Java, etc)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge in applications development would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge about AWS integration and usage
  • Have the ability to learn technical concepts quickly with a strong sense of urgency
  • Have enthusiasm for working in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Be a creative problem solver, who is passionate about innovation and customer experience.
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Capable to deal with ambiguity; work with minimum supervision
